Comprehensive Development Plan News

To: Village of Hallam and Area Residents
From: The Hallam Planning Commission
Subject: Community Invitation
Date: November 30, 2010

The Hallam Planning Commission is requesting community participation involving review of the updated 2035 Comprehensive Plan.

The Comprehensive Development Plan for the Village of Hallam was first adopted in 1979. It had a planning period of 25 years - which means it has been out of date since 2004. For the past three years, the Hallam Planning Commission, village staff, and volunteers have been working to update this plan. The comprehensive plan is a vision for the future of Hallam. It describes the desired direction of growth, community services, transportation facilities, recreation and environmental facilities. Comprehensive plans should be reviewed on an annual basis and updated every 5 years.

On Saturday, December 18th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., during the Christmas Party event at the Hallam Auditorium, the Planning Commission will have the updated 2035 Comprehensive Plan available to review and would like your input. Copies of the Plan may be viewed at the Village of Hallam Office, Hallam Post Office, and First State Bank-Hallam Branch, during regular business hours, or online

There will be formal public meetings held in the Auditorium Meeting Room, 315 Main Street, on January 19, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Planning Commission meeting and the Village Board of Trustees meeting on February 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to submit formal comments by mail to: Village of Hallam, PO Box 81, Hallam, NE, 68368 and email prior to January 13, 2011 or in person at one of these meetings.

Thank you in advance for your participation!
