COUNTY EXTENSION is your local connection to university research-based information. Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County is a partnership between Lancaster County, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. We extend knowledge, provide solutions and change lives in these educational program areas:

  • Community Environment (Lawn, Garden & Landscape, Insect Pests & Wildlife)
  • Food, Nutrition & Health
  • Cropping & Water Systems (Climate, Agriculture & Acreages)
  • 4-H Youth Development
  • Learning Child (Families & Care Providers)
  • Beef Systems
  • Community Vitality

Lancaster County Extension Board members are appointed by the county commissioners and serve as advocates for Extension programs. Public Meeting Notice: The board is scheduled to meet at 8 a.m., every second Friday of the month. For the most current schedule, please check the Lancaster County Extension Calendar

Volunteer Opportunities: Our community benefits from volunteers who help extend the reach of Extension programs. If you would like to learn more about volunteering, call 402-441-7180 or visit http://lancaster.unl.edu.
