Get to Know the County Treasurer
Thank you for clicking around on our website. Briefly, a little more about your County Treasurer, and most of all thank you for voting me into office.
I graduated from Norfolk High School and am alumni of Northeast Community College and Kearney State College. I have a BS in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. I served in law enforcement with the Norfolk Police Department for several years and for two decades with the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, most of it as a Sergeant. During that time I served in a variety of roles including Driving Instructor, Head Firearms Range Master, Clandestine Meth Lab Supervisor, Division Payroll Supervisor, Coordinator for the Hallam Tornado Disaster, I was Trustee and Vice President of the Fraternal Order of Police Union, and I held the position of Wellness and Fitness Coordinator for a number of years. I was awarded the "Officer of the Year" and the "Officer Excellence" awards. I am also a Notary Public.
I successfully won the Republican primary and the general election in November 2010. I took the Oath of Office in January 2011. My term expires in January 2015.
During the campaign I promised to make the office more visible, improve customer service, take debit and credit cards and to make the office more transparent. We have accomplished those goals. Please look at my "What We Have Accomplished" page.
All of these ideas have not been my own. I appreciate all of the suggestions I receive from citizens, my staff and my two sons. Much of my inspiration, and many of my ideas come from my two wonderful sons, Chase (14) and Jesse (8). They are clearly years ahead of their time. Thank you.
In my spare time I enjoy working out, some hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and coaching youth sports. My age 13u, AA/AAA USSSA "Blackhawks" select baseball team won 19 medals over the past few years. If I have extra spare time, my sons and I enjoy exploring Nebraska and discovering ancient Native American artifacts. I enjoy researching Health and Fitness issues to more detail.
Suggestions, comments and ideas are always welcome. I am never too busy to correspond with my constituents. Please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will reply as soon as I can regardless of the time of day.
Lastly, I commend and appreciate my entire staff. They work very hard helping the public. Each employee is kind, helpful and professional. They are seldom thanked and appreciated enough. I think they do an amazing job.
