Lancaster County Treasurer
Employee of the Year: Bill Jarrett
It is an honor to award Chief Deputy Bill Jarrett, the County Treasurer Office's Employee of the Year. Bill Jarrett has been serving the public since 1974. Bill retired after a long successful and noble career with the Sheriff's Office. At my request, Bill accepted the Chief Deputy Treasurer position in December of 2012, not for his own gain, but to serve a county office that needed his expertise. The Lancaster County Treasurer's Office was in desperate need of an office policy manual, internal controls and a solid hiring structure as well as updated contracts and services.
Bill Jarrett has served as a mentor and builds the confidence in employees. He encourages employees to further their education and training to better themselves. Bill worked diligently in updating the work space at all three locations.
Bill Jarrett announced his retirement from the Treasurer's Office in November 2015 and once again graciously agreed to stay longer than anticipated to cross train the incoming Chief Deputy Treasurer as well assist in the hiring of a Banking Director and fill three vacancies at the DMV. The Treasurer's Office and the citizens are forever thankful and appreciative for Bill's dedicated service, including overseeing a smooth transition with his retirement. Thank you Bill, for your dedication to Lancaster County and we are forever grateful for the positive influence.
