Captain Jerry Witte
Special Services Division Captain

Captain Witte joined the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office in 2000 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2007 and promoted to Captain in 2012. During his tenure at the Sheriff’s Office, Captain Witte has served in Patrol, Administrative Support, Civil, Criminal Investigations, and Special Services. Captain Witte has held twelve specialized positions including:

  • Crime Scene Investigator
  • Field Training Officer
  • Firearms Range Master
  • Criminal Investigations Division Supervisor
  • Personnel and Training Deputy
  • Civil Division Supervisor

Captain Witte is a 1988 graduate of Saint Cecilia’s High School in Hastings Nebraska, and 2010 graduate of SCC, Lincoln, with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session #248 and the recipient of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office 2010 Exceptional Duty Award.

Captain Witte and his wife, Amy are the proud parents of four boys, John, Andrew, Luke, and Matthew.
