Commanding the Special Services Division is Captain Don E. Young II. After graduating from The University of Nebraska in 1995, Captain Young joined the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office in 1996, was promoted to Sergeant in 2000 and promoted to Captain in 2007. During his service at the Sheriff’s Office, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Civil Division and as the Personnel and Training Deputy in the Administrative Services Division. Captain Young leads the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team and holds National Certification as a Crash Investigator (ACTAR). He is currently the Sheriff’s Office Physical Fitness Instructor, and holds Professional Instructor Certification for the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island. Captain Young is also a recent graduate of the FBI National Academy 233rd Session in Quantico, Virginia. Captain Young is a 1979 graduate of Lincoln Northeast High School and he and his wife, Kati, have one child, Holli. |
