Terry Wagner was elected Sheriff of Lancaster County, Nebraska, in November, 1994, and re-elected unopposed in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014. He is currently the 2nd longest serving Sheriff in the over 150 year history of Lancaster County. As Lancaster County Sheriff, he is the administrator of the 6th largest law enforcement agency in Nebraska, consisting of 76 sworn deputies, 25 civilian personnel, and a $10.5 million budget.
Prior to his election as Sheriff, Wagner served as a deputy sheriff for 18 years with additional responsibilities as a Field Training Officer, Accident Reconstruction Specialist, Tactical Response Unit team leader, and attaining the rank of sergeant. Since his election, Sheriff Wagner has pursued professional excellence by accomplishing the following:
