Captain Benjamin Houchin
Patrol Division Captain

Captain Ben Houchin is in charge of the Patrol Division at the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1991 and joined the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office on June 6, 1993. Captain Houchin was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in June of 2000, and in February of 2005 he was promoted to his current rank of Captain. During his tenure at the Sheriff’s Office he has worked in the Patrol Division, Narcotics Unit, Criminal Division, and Special Services Division. He has also served on the Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit (T.R.U.) and is presently the Unit’s Commander. In 1999 he attended the Backster Polygraph School in San Diego CA and he continues to perform polygraph examinations for the Sheriff’s Office.

  • First Vice President of the Nebraska Chapter of the FBI National Academy Association.
