Captain Benjamin Houchin
Criminal Investigations Division Captain

Captain Ben Houchin is in charge of the Criminal Investigations Division at the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1991 and joined the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office on June 6, 1993. Captain Houchin was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in June of 2000, and in February of 2005 he was promoted to his current rank of Captain. During his tenure at the Sheriff’s Office he has worked in the Patrol Division, Narcotics Unit, Criminal Division, and Special Services Division. Captain Houchin served on the Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit for ten years and was the Team Leader for five of those years. In 1999 he attended the Backster Polygraph School in San Diego CA and he continues to perform polygraph examinations for the Sheriff’s Office. Captain Houchin is married to Maureen Brase-Houchin and they have three children, Quentin, Elienne, and Wren.
