Acute Outpatient Treatment
Charlyn Shickell, Ph.D. - Program Manager
Program Goal and Description:
The goal of the Acute Outpatient Program is to provide high quality evaluation and consumer oriented treatment to the citizens of Lancaster County to help individuals achieve optimum functioning and quality of life through alleviation of psychiatric symptoms; expansion of support systems; and development of practical life skills necessary to wellness and recovery. Services include individual, conjoint, marital or group psychotherapy. Educational groups are provided in response to client requests.
We use an insight oriented, solution-focused treatment approach that emphasizes active collaboration between the therapist and client as they mutually evaluate the client's strengths, needs, abilities and preferences. Ongoing therapy emphasizes client strengths and is guided by theory, current research and best practice models.
What Outpatient Services can do for you:
Licensed therapists provide objectivity and support for persons seeking help with emotional problems or making major life changes. Insight oriented psychotherapy helps clients identify problems and discover their own solutions by using their strengths through individual or group therapy as clinically indicated by medical necessity.. Outpatient services are designed primarily for short-term counseling of twelve to twenty-four sessions.
