Politcal Parties

Currently, there are four political parties recognized under state law in Nebraska. They are the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, the Libertarian Party, and the Americans Elect Party.

Several elected offices are nominated on a partisan basis. These offices are: Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, State Treasurer, State Attorney General, U.S. Senators, members of the U.S. House of Representatives, County Commissioners, County Clerk, County Attorney, County Assessor/Register of Deeds, Clerk of the District Court, County Sheriff, County Treasurer, County Engineer and County Public Defender.

The other elected offices in Nebraska are nominated on a nonpartisan basis.
