Todd is a lifelong Nebraskan born and raised in Kearney. He attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney where he received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Upon graduating in May 1999, he moved to Lincoln and went to work for former U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel as a constituent services representative.
In 2005, Todd was named Sen. Hagel's State Director. In his new position, Todd was responsible for the operations and staff in Sen. Hagel's four state offices. He also managed all of Sen. Hagel's constituent services. When Sen. Hagel announced his retirement, Todd handled the process of archiving and closing the state offices. He also assisted the transition between Sen. Hagel and his successor, Sen. Mike Johanns.
In January 2009, Todd accepted a position with U.S. Census Bureau. As Nebraska's Partnership Specialist for the 2010 Census, Todd was responsible for developing and implementing an integrated communications campaign to encourage voluntary participation in the census. As a result of his efforts, Nebraska's participation rate of 77% was the highest in the 10 state Rocky Mountain Region and sixth in the nation.
After his appointment with the Census Bureau expired, Todd helped form We Support Agriculture, a team effort of Nebraska Farm Bureau, Nebraska Cattlemen, Nebraska Pork Producers, Nebraska Poultry Industries, and Nebraska State Dairy Association to promote the understanding of animal agriculture to Nebraska's food security and economic well being.
In 2011, Todd went to work for U.S. Congressman Jeff Fortenberry, where he served as his district director and financial coordinator.
Todd lives in north Lincoln with his golden retriever, Tucker.
