Announces Guidelines for Public Hearing on Drag Strip,
(County Special Permit No. 06051), to be held July 31, 2007
Public Hearing to begin at 11:30 AM
In anticipation of the public's interest in County Special Permit #06051 and
the Public Hearing regarding the proposed quarter-mile drag strip east of
U.S. Highway 77 between Branched Oak and Davey Roads, the Lancaster County Board
of Commissioners announces the following guidelines to assist citizens who
anticipate providing testimony to the Board during the hearing:
- The Public Hearing will begin at
11:30 A.M. in Room 112 of the County-City Building.
- Sign-in sheets will be available
beginning at 10:30 A.M.. You will be asked to sign your name, your position
(pro, con or neutral), your address and how many "air" miles your home is from
the perimeter of the drag strip site.
- Testimony will be limited to four
minutes. Each speaker will be asked to state their name, address, and the
location of their residence relative to the drag strip site.
- If you plan to provide testimony
requiring the use of special video or audio equipment you will need to
coordinate, in advance, with 5-City TV to make arrangements. You may reach
5-City TV at 441-6688 or 441-7432. Keep in mind each speaker will be limited
to a maximum of four minutes which will include any "demonstration".
- Breaks will be called as needed.
General Information:
- The Board generally makes a
decision following the close of a public hearing. That cannot be guaranteed in
all situations. Issues and questions may arise during the public hearing
requiring additional research before the Board is comfortable with a decision.
- The meeting can be viewed live on
