Deanna Covault received the Commissioners Award of Excellence Award for April, 2014 at the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners meeting today. She was nominated for this award by Gary Bergman, Unit Leader, Lancaster County Extension Office, in the category of Customer Relations.
Deanna began working with the Lancaster County Extension Office in 1999. In his nomination, Gary highlighted Deanna's work ethic and ability to simultaneously answer a large volume of phone calls while greeting the walk-in public. Gary stated, "Her knowledge of extension materials, programs and resources help her to sort through varied phone-in requests with great poise and demeanor". The Extension Office staff highly value Deanna and her ability to assist the public and direct inquiries to the correct person or agency.
Gary further emphasized that Deanna exemplifies customer relations as a "proactive agency employee who presents herself professionally in dress, pleasantly communicates, and considers our Lancaster residents a top priority in the uppermost professional manner".
Larry Hudkins, Chair of the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners, said "We are pleased to recognize Deanna with this award. Her knowledge of the wide range of subject areas the Extension Office works with is valuable to Lancaster County residents and the Extension Office staff. We appreciate her ability to handle varied questions with expertise and professionalism".
The Commissioners Award of Excellence award recognizes employees who consistently provide outstanding service and work that demonstrates exemplary personal commitment to Lancaster County.
