Commissioner's Award of Excellence

The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners presented its December, 2011 Commissioners Award of Excellence to Gayla Anderson in the categories of Productivity and Customer Relations. Gayla works as a Mental Health Clinician II at the Community Mental Health Center. She began working for the County on June 10, 1996. She was nominated for this award by Dr. Charlyn Shickell and Dean Settle.
Because of her nursing background and the importance of documentation in all areas of the Community Mental Health Center; Gayla helped design forms and checklists for the entire agency when these forms were necessary for CARF accreditation. (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). She keeps the Partial Hospitalization Program running smoothly, and greets each client as someone who has worth and value. Her nursing background is a plus to the clients. Her positive attitude encourages her staff to do their best at all times.
In her nomination, Dr. Shickell said, "I have known Gayla for 25 years, going back to her employment at Lincoln General Hospital as a nurse on the psychiatric ward, and I have always been impressed with her professionalism and the manner in which she works with the patients and clients under her care. It has been my great pleasure to know and work with Gayla in my professional career."

The Commissioners Award of Excellence award recognizes employees who consistently provide outstanding service and work that demonstrates exemplary personal commitment to Lancaster County.
