Lancaster County Creates Infrastructure Task Force, Kick-Off Meeting set for April 5th

Lincoln, NE - March 30, 2018 - The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners has created a task force to help address the County's infrastructure needs. The task force, made up of various community members and stakeholders will hold its first meeting on April 5, 2018.

Lancaster County has contracted with Olsson Associates to help facilitate the Infrastructure Task Force as it works to address the on-going infrastructure needs of the County including roads, bridges, infrastructure maintenance and long-term planning. The first meeting is open to the public and will be held, Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 2-3:30 pm at the Lancaster County Extension Office, located at 444 Cherrycreek Road, Suite A, Room A. Tours of the county roads and bridges will be held after the meeting. The public is encouraged to attend and learn more about the County's infrastructure needs.

The task force is made up of a variety of individuals including Lancaster County Commissioners Jennifer Brinkman and Roma Amundson. Lancaster County Engineer Pam Dingman will also serve on the group. Many different sectors are represented on the task force including representatives from other Lancaster County communities, local builders, financiers, realtors, environmentalists and members of the agriculture community. The Lancaster County Commissioners sought a broad group of people to assist in the important work of addressing the infrastructure needs of the County and was pleased with so many willing and qualified volunteers. "We are extremely excited to get this group working and hope that they are able to help us find solutions and new ideas for some of the County's most complex issues," said Lancaster County Commissioner Roma Amundson. The group will also meet on May 3, 2018 at the Waverly Engineering Shop, June 12, 2018 at Norris Public Schools and July 12, 2018 at the Denton Community Center. All meetings are open to the public.
