Applicant Briefing for Disaster Declaration Process

The Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has notified entities impacted by the recent flooding event of the Applicant Briefing meeting with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as a result of the Federal Disaster Declaration issued June 25, 2015.

NEMA, in coordination with the Lancaster County Emergency Management Department, have notified all eligible entities of this briefing. At the briefing FEMA will provide information to political entities, owners/operators of public property and critical infrastructure on the process required by the disaster declaration. FEMA will assign staff to work with local entities in drafting work plans to address the response to and recovery from the disaster.

It is important to note that individual assistance to private property owners with flood damage is not part of the Federal Disaster Declaration. Individuals can apply for Small Business Administration Disaster Loans (both businesses and residents with damage) by phone at (800) 659-2955 or emailing disastercustomerservice@sba.gov
