Incumbent Filing Deadline Approaches
Lincoln -- Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively reminded potential candidates that the incumbent filing deadline for federal, state, and local offices for the May 15th Primary Election is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
A person is considered an incumbent if he/she is a present officeholder of any elected office and would like to file for the same office or a different office.
Non-incumbents for federal, state, and local offices and voters wishing to file as delegates to political party conventions must file by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012.
