Mail-in Voter Registration Deadline is
Friday, March 18th for City Primary Election
LINCOLN -- The Lancaster County Election Commissioner is reminding voters that the deadline for mail-in voter registration applications is Friday, March 18th in order for the registration to be effective for the April 5th City Primary Election. Anyone registering to vote for the first time or voters who have moved, changed their name, or want to change their political party affiliation must have the mail-in registration form postmarked no later than Friday, March 18th. In addition, Friday, March 18th is also the deadline to register to vote when applying for a driver's license or at any government agency.
Mail-in registration forms are available at most post offices, banks, and libraries. Voters may also download a voter registration form from the election commissioner's web site and mail it to the election office. The web site address is: lancaster.ne.gov/election/.
Citizens may also register to vote at the Election Commissioner's Office, 601 North 46th Street, through Friday, March 25th. The office is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Thursday, March 24th and will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25th.
The Election Commissioner will also conduct voter registration at the South Pointe Barnes and Noble, 27th and Pine Lake Road, Lincoln on Wednesday, March 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
