West Lane of 40th Closed from Normal to Van Dorn
The southbound (west) lane of S. 40th Street from Normal to Van Dorn is closed due to a water main break. The break occurred about 7:45 this morning in the roadway on the southwest corner of 40th and Normal. The lane is expected to be closed through the weekend. Motorists are advised to use S. 48th St. as an alternate route.
City to Apply Anti-Icing Material
The City Public Works and Utilities Department will begin spreading anti-icing materials on all arterial streets beginning Monday, November 3.
Holdrege Street Bridge Near 18th Temporarily Closed
The bridge on Holdrege Street near 18th Street was closed today until further notice because of safety concerns. A detailed inspection of the bridge in nearing completion, but officials say initial findings have caused "sufficient uncertainty" in the ability of the bridge to safely handle current traffic loads.
