City to Apply Anti-Icing Material

The City Public Works and Utilities Department will begin spreading anti-icing materials on all arterial streets beginning Monday, November 3. Motorists may notice the dark streaks of the material on the streets. The mixture of salt and water helps minimize frost build-up and the development of “black ice” on streets and bridges. The material application also makes removal of snow and ice build-up easier.
