4th of July Celebration


FOURTH OF JULY

Situated in the Northwest Team area is Oak Lake Park at 1st and Cornhusker, the site of the City's 4th of July celebration. Each 4th of July, the City of Lincoln celebrates our countries birthday with a city wide celebration. Planning for this event includes several city departments and this year promises to be a wonderful event. Officers from the city will be used to cover event activities and ensure everyone's safety and will also be responsible for post-event traffic control.

PARKING
Parking for the event will be in short supply and it is recommended to anyone planning on attending that they walk, ride a bike or utilize the free shuttle service. StarTran will provide shuttle service to and from Oak Lake Park from 5 to 11 p.m.

If you must drive to the park there are some things to remember.

Parking at Haymarket Park will be available also.

Handicap parking is available in the East Lot at Oak Lake. Charleston will be closed between Sun Valley Blvd and 1st Street except to access the handicap lot

No Parking will be allowed on the shoulders of 1st Street, Sun Valley Blvd., Cornhusker, and I-180. All vehicles will be towed if parked along these roadways.

FIREWORKS
NO PRIVATE FIREWORKS OF ANY KIND, NOR ANY ALCOHOL, NOR ILLEGAL DRUGS ARE PERMITTED IN THE PARK.
The Fire Prevention Bureau will be on duty throughout the day, as will the Lincoln Police Department to ensure the safety of all participants.
