Parks

Our goal is to have a park area within one-half mile walking distance of each residence in the community. We enjoy 125 parks in Lincoln with more than half of them identified as neighborhood and mini-parks.  Parks and Recreation also cares for almost 4,000 acres of natural greenspace areas, 2 fenced dog parks and 2 skate parks.  Click here for a list of park locations.

Lots of exciting things are happening at Lincoln Parks and Recreation!

  • Development of Phares Park
  • Construction will continue on Union Plaza, Lincoln’s newest community park and festival area, in Antelope Valley at 21st and ‘O’ Streets.
  • Hazel Abel Park at 18th and ‘E’ Streets will be undergoing a major renovation.

Reserve a Park Facility

What better place to have your next corporate or family event than one of Lincoln’s parks?  Many of our park facilities are available to rent.  Call 402-441-8262 or e-mail parks@lincoln.ne.gov for more information.
