Mayor Beutler was joined by one of Santa's elves and Parade Director Deb Johnson Nov. 13 to announce plans for the 23rd annual Star City Holiday Parade December 6 in downtown Lincoln. The Parade is presented by Verizon Wireless and produced by Updowntowners Inc. and the City of Lincoln.

November 25, 2008
Scott Young from the Food Bank joined Mayor Beutler November 25 to announce that the Mayor will match every can of SPAM donated to the Food Bank through December 15, up to 200 cans.

December 4, 2008
Santa and Mrs. Claus visited the Mayor's office December 4 to make their SPAM donation.

December 12, 2008
On Friday, December 12, Wayne Anderson dressed as SPAM Man when he and several other IT department associates from Assurity deliver more than 100 cans they have collected.

At the same time, Holdrege resident Linda Black presented the Mayor with an autographed book about SPAM written by her son Dustin Black, a UNL graduate.
