City to Add Four Officers With Stimulus Grant

Mayor Beutler anounced August 6 that the City would accept a federal COPS stimulus grant to add four new full-time
police officers to the Lincoln Police Department. He was joined by, from the left, Chief Tom Casady and Captains Jim

Mayor Says SummerWorks Program A Success

Dan Cain of the City's Urban Development program discussed the success of the SummerWorks program at Mayor Beutler's
news conference August 17. SummerWorks is using federal stimulus funds to provide jobs for young works. Also

City Receives Funds For Wastewater Projects
August 27, 2009
Following an August 27th news conference, Mayor Beutler and Mike Linder, Director of the Nebraska Department of
Environmental Quality (NDEQ), signed two loan documents for a total of $10 million that will assist in funding City
